Villa Decor and Inspirations from France & Italy

ForeWord Magazine awarded Villa Decor: Decidedly French and Italian Style top prize--Editors’ Choice Nonfiction Book of the Year- in June 2003. Inspirations from France and Italy was the magazines silver medalist in 2007. Also, the latter garnered first prize in Home Decorating/ Interior Design from USA Book News. Betty Lou's first foray into children's books, Emily Goes Wild, was an instant hit, winning Texas Institute of Letters prestigious FRIEND OF THE AUSTIN PUBLIC LIBRARY AWARD FOR BEST CHILDREN'S BOOK. Irrestibly cute Emily with a monkey-mind of her own is now at Neiman Marcus, FAO Schwarz, and other retail locations.

A respected member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Betty Lou Phillips' design work has been featured in hundreds of newspapers throughout the country, in addition to dozens of magazines, including Veranda, Southern Accents, Traditional Home, Bedroom & Bath and Window and Wall, and Decorating. She has appeared on Christopher Lowell Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show. She lives in Dallas, Texas. Her three sons all married interior designers.
